So far, Huawei is working with several Chinese electric car manufacturers such as BAIC Group, Chongqing Changan Automobile Co, and Guangzhou Automobile Group Co. Later, this new self-driving car will be named Huawei as its sub-brand.
Huawei’s plan is similar to that of Intel Corp, where it puts its own logo on the production of cars using self-driving technology. In addition, Huawei’s new car initiative could be seen as an attempt to expand new areas to spur profits.
As is well known, Huawei is a Chinese multinational company which is well known for its telecommunication and electronic technology. The company is now blacklisted by former US President Donald Trump for being considered a spy.
As a result, Huawei has faced difficulties in developing its business, including smartphones and 5G. The Biden government has yet to give the signal to lift the sanctions.
