It was alleged that the employer did not take the necessary safety precautions in the workplace and this resulted in his hand getting stuck in the machine and therefore his hand amputated. The court ordered the employer to pay Dh100,000 in compensation for the complainant’s loss of hand and Dh10,000 in court costs.
