Compatriots choose to return via Coahuila: “it’s safer”

After the December holidays in the United States, long queues can be seen on the streets of Coahuila, on the way home, as they consider them safer.

Hundreds of vehicles with Texan plates began their return on Monday and therefore the only toll booth located in the northern part of the state has reported congestion.

The public security secretary of Coahuila has launched an operation called “return to compatriot” to ensure their return and prevent accidents and robberies.

Since yesterday morning, the two toll booths on the ‘Premier’ motorway have recorded files of up to three kilometres.

Units waiting to be charged 127 pesos for using a stretch of about 50 kilometers with two lanes in both directions.

The aforementioned company also reported that the free highway has also experienced saturation, this on both roads between the municipalities of Sabinas and Allende, where dozens of families return to Mexico each year.

The recommendation is to bring water before approaching this section and allow the passage of emergency services by car in case of emergency.

During the first five days of the year, this stretch has high traffic loads even at dawn, since they are people traveling to Piedras Negras and Ciudad Acuña, where three international bridges are located.
