Most games that appear for the PlayStation 4 or are planned for this platform will soon receive an upgrade, whether or not free of charge, for the PlayStation 5. This can be immediately at launch, but also at a later date. That depends a bit on how publishers and developers deal with it.
To emphasize such an option, an extra label will be added to the case of the game. Whether that applies to every game is not clear at the moment, but Immortals: Fenyx Rising at least plans to, according to the PS4 box art that has been released.
This box art has a small label with the text ‘PS5 Upgrade Available’ on it, which is a clear signal. More PS4 games are expected to put this on their case. Speaking of this game, Ubisoft has stated on this title’s website that the PS5 upgrade will be free.
