HOLY – HIV/AIDS cases from 2017 to 2022 reached 638 cases. This number has decreased because many died during the pandemic two years ago.
Kudus Anti-Drug Community Caucus and Peer Assistance Group (Kauman and KPS) chairman Eny Mardiyanti said the number of cases was due to the low level of public understanding regarding transmission prevention. The number of people exposed to HIV/AIDS is of productive age. That is to say the age range from 17 to 55 years with the male sex being the most.
“When people want to control themselves they are still afraid because of the stigma. If they asked them to control it, the answer would be that they have never had sex,” she said.
According to Eny, when they “snack” and have no understanding of infectious disease, it will impact the people around them. Many, in fact, do not know the risks of free sex.
He said people need to stay aware and have the courage to control themselves. This is what it feels like not to exist in today’s society. That is, they don’t understand transmission prevention.
“Because if they understand, they must be aware and they must have the courage to take the test and want to be tested. Even if the results are positive, the physical condition is still healthy,” he said.
Enny added, “male masher” who is married who often has unprotected sex with commercial prostitutes (PSK). The risk of contracting HIV is even greater for “mashers” because they have sex with prostitutes who take turns in different places. While gays have only one partner and HIV/AIDS in gays is the last terminal because they do not have women as permanent partners.
He said the increase in the number of HIV/AIDS cases was influenced by environmental factors. Also, parental supervision and attention is fading more and more.
Eny denied that the statement was clearly irrelevant because the risk of HIV transmission is individual behavior. Cases in adults are completely unrelated to parental supervision and attention. (san/evil)
