Wuling launched the latest MPV in China, named Wuling Victory. If you enter Indonesia, Wuling Victory can be Wuling’s weapon to challenge the Toyota Kijang Innova.
The presence of this new Wuling Victory actually still carries a design similar to the previous version. The silhouette looks typical of a family MPV, but with a firm line that creates a tough impression.
“Aesthetically, Wuling Victory 2022 maintains the exact same look as the previous year’s model, both on the outside and inside the cabin. Changes are limited to details such as a new red paint color for the bodywork and the addition of black as a second choice for interior design, in addition to beige launched first,” wrote GM Authority.

As a potential challenger to the Toyota Innova, let’s compare the engines of the two medium MPVs?
As an illustration, Wuling Victory 2022 carries a 1,500 cc turbo engine. Indeed, the engine capacity is smaller than the Innova which comes with a choice of a 2,000 cc petrol engine and a 2,400 cc diesel engine. However, the Wuling Victory engine comes with turbocharged technology.
On paper, the 1,500 cc turbo engine Wuling Victory is claimed to have a power of around 175 HP and 290 Nm of torque. Power from the engine is transmitted by a CVT transmission.
For comparison, the Toyota Kijang Innova with a 2,000 cc petrol engine has 137 horsepower at 5,600 rpm with a maximum torque of 183.3 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The power and torque of the 2,000 cc petrol version of the Innova is smaller than the 1,500 cc Wuling Victory considering that the Wuling car has an additional turbo.

While the 2,400 cc diesel version on the Innova, its power reaches 147 horsepower with a maximum torque of 360 Nm at 1,200-2,600 rm. The power is also less than the Victory 1.5 turbo, but the torque is much greater considering that this version of the Innova uses a 2,400 cc diesel engine.
In China, Wuling sells this brand-new family car in two types, namely the Victory 280T Premium and the Victory 280T Flaghsip. For the price, the Premium type is priced at 115,800 CNY or around Rp. 263 million and the Flagship is priced at 125,800 CNY, equivalent to Rp. 292 million. This car has just launched in China, not yet present in Indonesia.
Meanwhile, the Toyota Kijang Innova in Indonesia is currently priced at IDR 355,000,000 to IDR 450,100,000.
