The mid-range remains undoubtedly the most popular on the market, not only because of course many of these mobiles have good prices, but because it is increasingly common to see that their characteristics are borrowed in some cases from the high-end. It is the case of Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite and the Samsung Galaxy A52 that we compare today.
Two phones that have a lot to offer us with features that until recently we found in higher-end mobiles. They are undoubtedly two of the most interesting bets that both the Chinese and Korean firms offer us in 2021, phones that deserve a good comparison with everything they offer.
Which of the two is a better buy?
Screen and dimensions
Here we have two quite similar mobiles, since they integrate the latest trends that we can expect from devices of this type. The size is similar, because the Xiaomi has a screen of 6.55 inches AMOLED with Full HD + resolution, aspect ratio of 20: 9, perforated camera and very important, HDR10 and refresh rate of 90Hz. For its part, the Samsung comes with a significantly smaller screen, with a size of 6.5 inches and Full HD + resolution.
It also has a perforated camera, this time in the central area, as well as Super AMOLED technology with a 20: 9 aspect ratio and also a 90Hz refresh rate, so there is quite a bit of equality in this section. On the other hand, the dimensions are also similar, although in this the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite wins by a landslide, because we are facing the thinnest mobile on the market. This one measures 160.5 x 75.7mm and is only 6.8mm thick, and it is also one of the lightest, weighing in at just 157 grams. On the other hand, the Samsung is especially thicker, since its dimensions are 159.9 x 75.1 x 8.4 mm, and it is heavier, with 189 grams.
Performance and memory
In this aspect we have two mobiles with similar processors, since the Xiaomi has the Snapdragon 732G and the Samsung Galaxy A52 with the Snapdragon 720G, both manufactured in the 8nm process and with eight similar cores, somewhat more advanced in the case of the Xiaomi.
The RAM of both versions that we have looked at is 6GB. While the internal storage of the Xiaomi is 64GB and that of the Samsung is 128GB, in both cases expandable through microSD cards. Therefore they are two mobiles that except for the internal storage offer quite equal.
Photo camera
The camera is one of the key aspects when choosing one phone or another, and in this case we have perhaps better specifications in the case of the Samsung. Because this one comes with a camera quadruple, with a 64 megapixel main sensor and f / 1.8. It is accompanied by a 12-megapixel f / 2.2 wide-angle, as well as a 5-megapixel f / 2.4 macro sensor and a 5-megapixel depth sensor also with an aperture of f / 2.4. A mobile that can record video in 4K at 30fps.
On the other hand, the Xiaomi has a triple camera, with an identical main sensor, 64 megapixels and aperture of f / 1.8. It is accompanied by an 8 megapixel f / 2.2 wide angle and a 5 megapixel f / 2.4 macro, so except for the depth sensor that the Xiaomi does not have, they are identical.
The Mi 11 Lite can record video with resolution 4K a 30fps. When it comes to selfie cameras, the Samsung stands out again, as it has a 32-megapixel sensor with f / 2.2 aperture, which is twice the resolution of the Xiaomi 16-megapixel sensor with f / 2.5 aperture. An important fact is that while the front camera of the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite can record video in Full HD at 1080p, the Samsung can do it in 4K a 30fps.
Battery, connectivity and software
As for the battery, we have similar characteristics, although each one stands out in one respect. The Samsung for example has more battery capacity, with 4500mAh, for 4250mAh from Xiaomi. On the other hand, if we look at the fast charge, the one of the Mi 11 Lite, with 33W, is faster than that of the Galaxy A52, with 25W. Both have Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac, Bluetooth 5, A-GPS, USB type C connector, as well as NFC, so we can pay with them in establishments replacing our bank cards.
The Samsung has in its favor a fingerprint reader under the screen, while in the Xiaomi it is located on the side. They both have stereo speakers, and the Galaxy has a headphone jack that the Mi 11 Lite does not have. Regarding the software, both have Android 11 in their respective customization layers, such as One UI 3.1 or MIUI 12.
Price and conclusion
The truth is that we are facing two excellent mobiles, and in this case we cannot give one of them as a clear winner, since each of these phones clearly stands out in certain aspects. If we want the thinnest mobile on the market, and one of the lightest, along with greater processing power and faster charging, without a doubt the best choice is the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite. On the other hand, if we give more importance to the camera, battery capacity, greater storage, a fingerprint reader integrated into the screen, the Samsung Galaxy A52 should be your choice.
Buy Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite
Buy Samsung Galaxy A52
Because in this case, in addition, the price is not decisive, since the versions in which we have looked have a similar price, of 299 euros in the case of Xiaomi, and 315 euros in the case of Samsung. Therefore it is a difference that is not decisive In this case, as are some of the features that each of these phones have, which are undoubtedly one of the most complete that we will be able to see this year in the mid-range.
