Russia is known to have this hypersonic missile during the invasion of Ukraine some time ago. They deployed the missile for the first time to Ukraine and could easily destroy an underground arsenal.
This immediately got the attention of the world’s eyes, one of which was China. Now the country has developed its own hypersonic missile.
Then which missile is more powerful? Here’s the review:
1. Name Difference
Russia’s most popular hypersonic missile is the 3M22 Zircon, while the missile that strikes Ukraine is called the Kinzhal.
Meanwhile, the Chinese military began developing medium-range hypersonics for the recently developed Dongfeng-17 (DF-17), which was publicly displayed at a Beijing military parade in October 2019.
2. Speed Comparison
Launching from DW, the Russian Hypersonic Missile has a speed of up to ten times faster than the speed of sound which means it reaches Mach 5 to Mach 10.
