O2 launched four new YOU offers on Monday. The cheapest for CZK 299 includes 120 minutes of calls to all networks and three GB of data, a tariff with unlimited calls and ten gigabytes (GB) of data is CZK 200 more expensive, and for CZK 699 you can purchase a tariff with unlimited data and a speed of up to 20 Mbit/s. The tariff with unlimited 5G speed is CZK 200 more expensive.
“The need for unlimited dating anytime and anywhere on the fastest 5G network continues to grow, even among young customers. Year-on-year data consumption in the mobile network is rising sharply, it is doubling from year to year,” said Silvia Cieslarová, director of the O2 mobile services segment.
Data consumption on the network is growing rapidly
Vodafone already last week came up with three new offers with unlimited data, calls and SMS, which differ only in download speed. A student with an ISIC card pays CZK 487 per month for a basic speed of four Mbit/s, CZK 657 for 20 Mbit/s and CZK 857 for unlimited speed.
T-Mobile has not presented a new offer in recent days. The current one starts at 480 CZK, for which it offers ten GB of data and unlimited calls, the other two for 700 and 905 CZK contain unlimited data, the cheaper one has a speed limited to ten Mbit/s after the first 15 GB. Children under the age of 15 also have an offer of 150 minutes of calls and three GB of data for CZK 275 with T-Mobile.
There are around 15.2 million active SIM cards in the Czech Republic. According to ČTÚ, the volume of data traffic in domestic mobile networks increased by 60 percent year-on-year to 926 petabytes. This corresponds to an average monthly consumption of around seven gigabytes per SIM.
