*As I am writing this article, the 256GB version has sold out, so the top one is 512GB.
This time, we will examine an SSD from a manufacturer called Acclamater.
Acclamater is a Chinese manufacturer.
It was founded in 2015, so it’s a fairly young company, less than 10 years old.
We are a so-called memory company that manufactures and sells DRAM memory module products and flash memory products.
It seems to be mainly sold on Amazon, and there is no other information available.
The official website URL is on the back of the product box.
Just in case, I’ve also attached the official Amazon store page.
Acclamator amazon official store
Amazon’s sales page has more information than the official website.
Looking at the special commercial law notation on the Amazon official store
As shown above, it seems that there are no distributors in Japan.
Considering what happens when trouble occurs like Fikwot and fanxiang, I can say that this is a manufacturer that I wouldn’t want to buy unless it was cheap.
On the internet, early adopters who love new things were rushing around, and I had the impression that the initial failure rate was high, but there were no particular problems with the product reviewed this time.
I think it can’t be helped to some extent because other famous manufacturers with initial defects may also be affected.
Introduction of review products
Surprisingly, the box is the same for all products.
There is a small window on the back so you can see the product directly.
The contents of the box are only the instructions and the product. The manual is available in multiple languages, including Japanese.
The product is a normal NVMeSSD.
It’s the back side.
Now let’s take a look at the actual product.
*Click on the product model number to open the sales page in a separate window/tab.
Unfortunately, at the time of writing this article, the 256GB version has been discontinued, so I was unable to confirm some of its specifications.
There is almost no information on the box or manual.
Although there is an official website, there are no specs listed, and the Amazon sales page is the most detailed, which is typical of a Chinese product.
Therefore, once the product was sold out, the specs could no longer be confirmed even if it had been in the lineup in the past.
I think this is all the information that can be checked on the website, so I tried using Flash_id as usual.
Controller: MAXIO MAP1202
Flash cell: Hynix 3dv7-176L TLC
The flash was SK Hynix 176 layer.
I had the impression that MAXIO was exclusive to YMTC, but it turns out that it can also be used outside of YMTC.
I’m a little surprised.
As usual, I will paste the log at the end of this article.
After formatting, the capacity was 238GB.
Verification environment
- CPU:Intel Core i7-13700K
- CPU cooler: Thermalight SI-100 Black
- Motherboard: Asrock Z690M-ITX/ax
- SSD: M2_2 (Chipset side) Moment MT34 NVMe Gen3 SSD 256GB (System drive)
- M2_1 (CPU side) Acclamator N30 256GB SSD (SSD reviewed this time)
- Power supply: Corsair SFX 750W power supply SF-750
- Memory: Patriot Viper DDR4-3000 OC memory 8GB*2=16GB
- Case: QDIY 0040-*PCJMK6-ITX (test bench)
- OS: Windows11 22H2 (latest Windows Update applied)
This time, I changed the CPU cooler to Thermalight’s SI-100 Black, which allows you to remove the SSD even if it is attached.
Although the included fan claims to be 4P, it is not PWM compatible, so it is running at full throttle all the time.
This point is also very advantageous for cooling, so please be careful.
What you need to be careful about is the test bench, so of course it’s open air.
The cooling conditions are much better than normal cases (especially Mini-ITX), so please take that into account.
The heat sink for the SSD is not included with the motherboard, but is a product sold separately.
The reason for this is, as I reported in a tweet, the one that comes with the motherboard is an integrated unit that cools two boards at once, and if one of them gets extremely hot, the system drive will go haywire.

I used the product above. The colors are red and black.
Crystal Disk Info9
The NVMe version listed on the box was 1.3, but here the NVMe Express version was 1.4.
From here I didn’t think it was MAXIO before purchasing, but it was actually MAXIO.
Once you get used to it, you can get an idea of what kind of controller it is just by listing the NVMe version, but I would like the description to be a little more accurate in this area.
Crystal Disk Mark 8
I measured the speed with Crystal Disk Mark8, a standard benchmark software that measures storage speed.
By default, Crystal Disk Mark8 measures the speed five times using 1GiB of test data and displays the one with the best number.
This is software that displays the speed of storage in its best condition.
sequential performance
Manufacturer’s nominal values for sequential performance could not be confirmed at this time.
Sequential read is 1783.67MB/s, sequential write is 1702.16MB/s, which is quite slow for MAXIO.
Other companies’ products equipped with the same controller were faster, so I checked several times to see if there was something wrong with the settings, but unfortunately there was no improvement.
Other companies’ products equipped with MAXIO MAP 1202 can achieve read speeds of over 3000MB/s even with 256GB, so this is honestly disappointing.
Acc;amator’s N30 is probably quite different from other companies’ products equipped with the same controller.
*It may be affected by an issue that slows down the SSD in Windows 11. However, we have included updates to improve it.
I plan to try it again on Windows 10 at a later date.
random performance
Random performance is 414K IOPS read and 312K IOPS read.
There is no particular nominal value here.
It’s surprisingly fast compared to similar products from other companies.
Sequential read is not a big deal, but random read/write is surprisingly more than double the performance.
To be honest, it was so different from other companies’ products that I tried it several times, but the results remained the same.
Judging from the results of only 256GB, the emphasis is on random performance, and sequential performance is not very high.
Personally, I like the results, but to be honest, when I compare them with other companies’ MAP1202 products, the results are so far apart that I wonder if there’s something wrong with them.
In particular, the lead is Toshiba LET’s 2TB Gen3 SSD TLD-M2B02T3.
- Read 281K IOPS, Write 416K IOPS
It is a bit surprising that 256GB random read is faster than 2TB, which is faster and has greater economies of scale.
Is there any point in tuning random performance to this extent and reducing sequential performance?
Unfortunately, it’s no longer sold, so I can’t try it on another one.
512GB/1TB/2TB etc. have a maximum read speed of 3300MB/s, which is typical of normal MAP1202 specifications.
If I have a chance, I’d like to try adding 2TB, but since I’m paying for it myself, it’s a bit difficult.
The results for 8GiB and 64GiB are summarized as a graph below.
ATTO Benchmark
The ATTO benchmark is a benchmark that measures the speed of SSD block sizes.
QD1
QD4
AS SSD Benchmark
The AS SSD benchmark is a benchmark test specifically for SSDs.
How does the speed change when free space is running low?
Recent SSDs use flash cells as SLC to serve as cache, but this is a slightly mean test to see how the speed changes when the remaining capacity is low.
Copy 174GB of data from a 2.5′ HDD connected via USB
After the speed drops significantly at first, copying finishes at around 1.35GB/s without any particular speed drop.
The behavior is typical of MAXIO MAP1202, but even though the sequential write is faster than other companies’ products with the same controller, the transfer speed is not as fast, and I have to say that it is weak at copying large files.
When there was 64GB left, I copied 32GB of data from the 2.5′ HDD connected via USB.
At first, the speed was about 3-4GB/s, perhaps because the cache was working, but it dropped significantly and dropped to less than 1GB/s, then picked up and reached 1.5GB/s, and the copy finished.
There’s nothing I can’t stand, but I think the other company’s MAP1202 products are more comfortable in this regard.
change in temperature
Run Crystal Disk Mark8 9 times with 8 GiB of test data and monitor the temperature for 5 seconds before and after
It started at 38°C and peaked at 43°C.
In tests conducted by major media outlets, the Gen4 controller MAP1602 appears to be displaying a lower temperature than the actual temperature, and this may be the case with the MAP1202 as well.
However, when I touched the heatsink during the test, it did not get particularly hot, so there is no doubt that it is a low heat generation controller.
If I can purchase a thermal sensor, I would like to try it again.
General review
I looked at the new Chinese manufacturer Acclamator’s PCIe Gen3 SSD, and it was quite different from other companies’ products equipped with the same controller.
The write speed in the large file copy test was quite slow, and it was at a level where I could not recommend it.
There are no other problems, and I’m impressed with the behavior typical of MAXIO MAP1202, but it seems that the sequential read and write settings are most effective when set to those of other companies.
