Jakarta –
RNF Aprilia team boss from Malaysia, Razlan Razali commented Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). In fact, he also compared it to the Sepang Circuit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. So, which of the two is better?
According to Razlan Razali, in terms of race preparation, the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit is better than the Sepang Circuit. Because, even though it is faster, preparations in Indonesia feel more mature.
“The Mandalika organizers are now working very well. Everything has been ready since Wednesday. In Sepang, on Thursday we were still working again before day 1. But here, since Wednesday it has been finished,” said Razlan when met by media crew in Lombok, quoted from CNN IndonesiaFriday (13/10).
“This year is very different from before. They worked very quickly and everything was so good. Clean, everything was repainted. So it was a good job from the organizers,” he added.

Razlan did not explicitly say which was better, Mandalika or Sepang. However, according to him, Mandalika has an additional attraction thanks to its beautiful natural panorama.
“Each circuit is unique and different. Mandalika is located on the island of Lombok, there are beaches, tropical and exotic islands. So there is a lot that can be done for tourists. There are many agendas that can be made too, such as motocross“, go-karts, good facilities that can be made in Mandalika,” he said.

Razlan previously served as chief executive officer (CEO) of the Sepang Circuit, Malaysia. He saw that, although there is no need to doubt the readiness and natural panorama of the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, there are a few things that must be learned from Sepang, namely the existence of a fan zone.
“Maybe activities outside the circuit need to imitate Sepang. I haven’t seen enough fan zones this year. Maybe next year there will be a lot that can be made because Mandalika is beautiful and there is a lot of potential that can be created, especially fan zones, food and so on,” he said he.
It is known that the 2023 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia will be held from today (13/10) to Sunday (15/10). The series of races starts with free practice, then shifts to the qualifying session and Sprint Race on Saturday. After that, the main race closed on Sunday.
