Comparing Subsidized Electric Motorbike Installments vs Honda BeAT: Which Is More Affordable?

Jakarta

Apart from getting a discount of IDR 7 million, subsidized electric motorbikes can also be paid in installments. This is a comparison of subsidized electric motorbike installments vs Honda BeAT.

Subsidized electric motorbikes can also be purchased using a credit scheme. The installments of course vary depending on the price. However, the installments are claimed to be lower than conventional motorbikes in general.

As a comparison, SVP Consumer Loan Bank Mandiri gave the example of two models of electric motorbikes which have a price of IDR 17 million. First there is the Honda BeAT and the other is the Volta electric motorbike.

However, because it received a subsidy of IDR 7 million, the price of the Volta was priced at IDR 10 million. This way the installments are lighter. Not only that, the tenor period is also longer, reaching 60 months.

“Well, the advantage of this electric motorbike is that there is a discount of IDR 7 million, then the installment scheme is also usually for conventional motorbikes, the installments are paid up front, but for us, the installments are paid in advance so it is even cheaper,” explained Agus in a recent discussion.

Not only that, consumers can also get 0 percent down payment when purchasing subsidized electric motorbikes. However, 0 percent down payment is obtained if the consumer’s salary is paid through a state-owned bank (Mandiri, BNI, BRI, BTN). If the consumer’s salary is paid via a non-BUMN bank, hereinafter referred to as BUMN Payroll, then the down payment charged remains 10 percent as with conventional motorbikes.

Subsidized electric motorbike installments also seem cheaper. Agus explained that the subsidized electric motorbike installments for BUMN payroll are IDR 259,333, while the installments for non-BUMN payroll are IDR 293,400. Meanwhile, the installments for the Honda BeAT are bigger, namely around IDR 633,590.
