A company that produces ice cream was the target of a new attack with explosives in the north of Guayaquil. On the morning of this Friday, October 13, when the employees and managers arrived at the establishment, they found a suspicious device at the entrance door.
The company, located on First Street in Mapasingue Oeste, has security cameras and that allowed the owners to detect that a man arrived at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday and placed the object on the ground.

Second Lieutenant Jenny Yánez, from the Ceibos district, confirmed that it was a stick of dynamite.
She said that police from the preventive axis closed the street and immediately alerted the Anti-Explosives Unit of the Intervention and Rescue Group (GIR).
The specialists lifted the charge and took it away to carry out a controlled detonation in a safe place.
Criminalistics agents also arrived to collect evidence and view the camera images that allow the subject to be identified.
They shot two young people with rifles during a shootout in a cooperative in the northwest of Guayaquil
It is presumed that this attack would be related to ‘vaccine’ type extortions, since in the industrial zone near the road to Daule they would also be paying fees to gangs to be able to work.
The Anti-Explosive Group responds to about five alerts of this type in Guayaquil every day. (YO)
