Company – Munich – Bavarian company doctors waiting for corona vaccine – Bavaria

Munich (dpa) – Large companies are now preparing corona vaccinations by the company doctors together with the Association of Bavarian Economy (vbw) and the Bavarian Ministry of Health. Health Minister Klaus Holetschek (CSU) said on Saturday that more vaccines will soon be available: “1.8 million vaccine doses have been announced for April alone.”

Vbw General Manager Bertram Brossardt said that as soon as sufficient vaccine was available, the companies and their company doctors would be available to vaccinate the workforce voluntarily. “Almost 200 companies have already registered with us and agreed to cooperate. The number is growing.”

The federal and state governments decided on Wednesday that company doctors would be included in the vaccination strategy in the course of the second quarter. Holetschek called on Federal Health Minister Jens Spahn (CDU) to quickly create the framework for the rapid involvement of company doctors. Legal issues, logistics and costs are still being clarified.

Large companies in particular that have experience with organized flu vaccinations could quickly organize this well. “In large Bavarian companies alone, we are making a vaccination offer to well over 100,000 people and getting vaccinations even faster,” said Holetschek.
