company mobility plans, a new anti-car tool

“More than 80% of people who live outside the canton take their cars to come to work and it is not right. This Monday, June 21 at the Federation of Romandie companies, the Minister of Infrastructures, Serge Dal Busco, hammered home an observation that we know well. This by presenting a regulatory framework for company mobility plans.

These plans aim to encourage the use of public transport, soft mobility and even carpooling, but also to reduce the share of cars, in particular by restricting free parking. They will be compulsory for the State of Geneva, municipalities and autonomous establishments (HUG, TPG, Geneva airport, etc.), and recommended for private individuals. “We are going to be prescribers” replied Vincent Subilia, president of the Geneva Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
