The Minister of Justice and Emergency Management Emilie Enger Mehl (28) has for the past two months been seen as a participant in the popular entertainment program “Kompani Lauritzen” on TV 2.
Mehl believes she learned a lot at “Kompani Lauritzen” which she brings with her into her job as a politician:
But Mehl has not only been one of many participants in “Kompani Lauritzen”. The 28-year-old has proven to impress greatly in the program, and will be in the final on Saturday night with Emilie Nereng (26), Rikke-Mari Isaksen (27) and Marius Skjelbæk (31). There, the four will fight for the victory in the competition, where the one who reaches the very top wins a sword.

However, the fact that the Minister of Justice and Emergency Preparedness is participating in a reality show has created some reactions, especially considering that Russia invaded Ukraine and a war broke out a few days before the show premiered on television.
– It was a very special week, says Mehl to Nettavisen.
– On the day it premiered on TV, it was only a few days after the war in Ukraine broke out, she adds.
– Understand that it has been a special time
The 28-year-old Minister of Justice and Emergency Preparedness from Lørenskog was “only” one of several parliamentary representatives when the program was recorded at Setnesmoen camp last summer.
Little did the politician know that shortly afterwards she would be in government as Minister of Justice and Emergency Preparedness and that war would break out in Ukraine when the program was to be broadcast on television.

“There is war in Ukraine. At the same time, Norway’s emergency minister is playing war as Saturday entertainment. It’s completely absurd »he wrote on Twitter ahead of the premiere.
