The revised holiday policy of one of the largest stockbrokers in the City of London will take effect from 2022. “There is no maximum, there is a minimum you have to take,” said FinnCap founder and CEO Sam Smith. “The rest is up to you.” According to Smith, her employees need at least four weeks of vacation per year and two or three days per quarter to recover.
FinnCap’s new policy also includes other measures to ensure that employees feel free to take as much vacation time as possible. The company has also hired more than thirty new employees this year to alleviate the increased workload. The company has also compiled a list of activities, from vet visits to home appointments with plumbers, that do not count towards the minimum of four weeks of vacation.
