Berlin (dpa / bb) – Siemens Mobility wants to relocate its development and production site in Berlin-Treptow to Adlershof. For this purpose, a new building is planned on Wagner-Régeny-Straße in the Adlershof Science and Technology Park, as Siemens Mobility announced on Wednesday. It is scheduled to be available in 2025. A leasehold contract with a term of 65 years was concluded for the 26,000 square meter property between the State of Berlin and BEOS AG, which is responsible for project development for the construction project.

Siemens Mobility has had a development department and around 150 employees in Adlershof for more than 25 years. The department is to be integrated into the new building. Around 1,200 employees will work in the new building in the future.

“In Berlin, Siemens Mobility develops and produces products for sustainable mobility in rail operations around the world,” said Berlin’s Governing Mayor, Franziska Giffey. The company is in good company in Adlershof, for example with Berlin Space Technologies and the Helmholtz Zentrum Berlin. The company’s plans in Adlershof are a milestone for Berlin as a location for further pioneering technologies.
