“And the award goes to ??” In the Melodium in Peuerbach, 44 fire-brigade-friendly companies from the Grieskirchen district were honored on Tuesday evening. The district fire brigade had already planned the premiere for the presentation of the “Award for the Economy” in the previous year, but the event was postponed due to the corona. One-man businesses as well as industrial companies that enable their employees to go out on assignments during working hours were brought to the front of the curtain.
Especially in this summer with violent storms and hailstorms it became clear once again how indispensable the volunteers and a sufficient team strength are during the day. “In these 44 companies alone we have 157 emergency services available to us,” emphasized the Grieskirchen district fire brigade commander Herbert Ablinger, who welcomed 150 invited guests, including the President of the Chamber of Commerce Doris Hummer, state security councilor Wolfgang Klinger (FP) and state fire brigade commander Robert Mayer .
The representatives of the excellent fire-brigade-friendly employers were brought onto the stage one by one. These include, for example, the agricultural machinery manufacturer Pöttinger from Grieskirchen, which has a large number of committed fire fighters among its employees, also from abroad, who are available when operations are due in the Grieskirchen area. At the boiler manufacturer ETA, voluntary commitment is also very important and brings plus points when applying for a job. In the two-man operation of Reinhard Kaltenberger from St. Agatha – he is also the fire brigade commander there – operations are unceremoniously closed when an alarm is received. (krai)
