The Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) Osnabrück-Emsland-Grafschaft Bentheim warns of a well-known scam that is currently being used again increasingly. Companies newly entered in the commercial register receive a letter from the central payment office in Berlin – allegedly on behalf of the district court in Osnabrück. According to the IHK, some of the letters are very professionally written. In it, the companies are asked to pay fictitious costs of around 760 euros for entry in the commercial register.
