In September 2020, the M3 money supply increased by PLN 18.1 billion. Its growth was mainly driven by an increase in deposits and other liabilities of non-financial enterprises and local government institutions, the National Bank of Poland informed on Thursday.

The data published by the NBP indicate that at the end of September 2020, the M3 aggregate, reflecting the total money supply, amounted to PLN 1,762.2 billion and was PLN 18.1 billion higher than at the end of August 2020.
“In September 2020, the value of M3 deposits and other liabilities in the household sector increased by PLN 3.4 billion, i.e. 0.4%, and amounted to PLN 944.4 billion,” we read.
The bank announced that the balance of deposits and other liabilities in the sector of other financial institutions increased by PLN 0.8 billion, i.e. 1.6%, to PLN 54.8 billion, and in the corporate sector the value of deposits and other liabilities increased by PLN 6.8 billion, i.e. by 1.9%, to the level of PLN 373.1 billion.
“In the local government institutions sector, it went up by PLN 4.1 billion, ie by 8.6 per cent, to the level of PLN 52.3 billion,” he added.
According to the NBP, the debt of households increased by PLN 5.7 billion, i.e. by 0.7%, to the amount of PLN 786.3 billion.
The NBP informed that the state of receivables from enterprises decreased by PLN 1.8 billion, i.e. 0.5%, to PLN 376.1 billion, and the net debt of the central government sector increased by PLN 8.9 billion, i.e. . by 2.5%, to PLN 366.0 billion.
