With the MagniFi Mini AX, Polk Audio has presented an extremely compact soundbar that still supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X for 3D sound. The sound bar is only 37 cm wide. In addition to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, Apple AirPlay 2, Chromecast built-in and Spotify Connect are also supported. An additional wireless subwoofer is also included.
The Polk Audio MagniFi Mini AX soundbar system will be available from the end of March 2022 for 479 euros PolkAudio.com or from authorized Polk dealers. The aim of this product was to create “the best-sounding, ultra-compact soundbar in the world,” according to the company. The 3D audio mode with upmixing function is also intended to heave stereo music into 360° spheres. I wouldn’t put my faith in the most impressive results though.
Of course, you can also play music from mobile devices via Bluetooth. The MagniFi Mini AX also features VoiceAdjust technology. The BassAdjust feature optimizes the adjustment of the low frequencies between the soundbar and subwoofer and enables the subwoofer to be tuned to individual sound preferences. The sound modes for movies and music optimize the sound of the soundbar for the respective content, while the night mode dampens bass and improves speech intelligibility. Certainly very helpful, especially in rented apartments, if you don’t want to offend your neighbors.
For enhanced surround sound experiences, users can combine the MagniFi Mini AX with Polk SR2 wireless speakers (sold separately for $179) to create a 5.1 system. You can connect the soundbar to the TV of your choice via HDMI, Optical or AUX. The HDMI cable is included in the scope of delivery. The integrated OLED display makes settings transparent and switches off automatically after use.
The Polk Audio MagniFi Mini AX comes with a remote control, but can also be controlled with most TV remote controls without additional configuration. It’s also Roku TV Ready certified for even easier setup and control.
