Major League Soccer announced this Wednesday the details of the Generation adidas Cup 2022, an elite youth tournament with clubs from MLS academies and professional clubs from around the world, of which River Plate will be part, with Comodorense Ian Subiabre among its summons .
A total of 80 professional teams from ten countries and four continents will compete in the U-17 and U-15 tournaments at the Toyota Soccer Center at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas, from April 9 to 17. They include representation from all 29 MLS club academies, U-17 and U-15 clubs from Mexico, Brazil, Italy and England.
Each team will play three group matches to determine qualification for the knockout round. Sixteen teams will qualify for the winning side of the draw and the winning teams will advance to play in an elimination format.

All teams competing in the GA Cup are guaranteed to compete in seven matches and matches will be 60 minutes long, made up of two 30-minute halves. Select games played inside Toyota Stadium, the home of FC Dallas, will feature 35-minute halves.
After the tournament, they will be delivered awards in both age groups for Most Valuable Player and Top Scorer of the Generation adidas Cup, as well as the Best Goalkeeper of the Generation adidas Cup, presented by Allstate.
