After only one day of the collection, when the target amount was significantly exceeded, the organizers wrote in surprise on the donation platform Znesnáze21: “We did not expect such a wave of solidarity. We thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts. The family is currently going through the most difficult time in their lives, but as more have been chosen than we expected, the family is considering how to deal with them. Part of the money will definitely go to say goodbye to Alenka, some money will then go to a new beginning for Jarda and his son Tomáš. If Alenka was here, she would also distribute the collection to help the Austrian team, which had an accident at the Historic Vltava Rally on Friday.
So the organizers remembered the car accident of another team, whose member was transported by helicopter with serious injuries to the hospital.
They contacted the Austrian competitors, but thanked them with the statement that “they are financially secure and the money will be more useful to the Krejčík family”.
The family finally decided to donate part of the collected money to little Eliška, who was born with central hypotonic syndrome and cerebral palsy. The couple wanted to support her personally as part of the Křenovská five-mile race in May, but after Alena’s tragic death, Jaroslav Krejčík will at least distribute the money from the collection.
815,000 crowns were collected in that one on Thursday night.
