‘Community and family fun at its best,’ Tipperary village gears up for Pumpkin fest 2024

Pumpkin Fest to Light Up Holycross This Saturday!

Holycross is set to transform into a lively celebration for its annual Pumpkin Fest this Saturday, October 26, from 12 PM to 3 PM at St. Michael’s Community Centre and throughout the village. This event promises a day filled with community spirit, family fun, and festive activities suitable for all ages.

A Festive Experience Awaits

Guests can look forward to a variety of exciting activities, including trick-or-treating through vibrant market stalls. Children can unleash their creativity in the Pumpkin Carving and Scarecrow Making Competitions to win fantastic prizes. Additionally, local talents, Lilly and Jasmine, will be providing face painting, ensuring that the little ones leave with smiles and colorful designs.

Notably, this year’s Pumpkin Fest is supporting Breast Cancer Ireland. Attendees can sign up for a unique Pumpkin Flower Arranging Workshop hosted by Olivia, which is nearly full. Interested participants are encouraged to reserve their spots immediately by messaging event organizers.

A Market Full of Local Treasures

With around 30 trading spaces, Pumpkin Fest will showcase a plethora of unique, homemade crafts handcrafted by local artisans. Shoppers can explore an array of products, including ceramics, jewelry, textiles, slate art, crochet items, custom beads, candles, soaps, and even gardening supplies. Local merchant TJ will also be on-site, supplying quality turf and timber just in time for the cooler weather.

The excitement doesn’t stop there! Attendees will have the chance to enter a fun raffle and partake in a brain teaser—guessing how many conkers are in Paddy’s bucket.

Free Admission and Future Events

Best of all, admission to Pumpkin Fest is completely free! Organizers encourage everyone from the surrounding communities to come out and celebrate the spirit of autumn and togetherness.

Mark your calendars for upcoming events as well! The Christmas Markets are scheduled for November 30, featuring a Slate Workshop, followed by a special visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus on December 14, among many other delightful activities.
