The ARTORG Center is now looking for an employee for communications and public relations. This position offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience in science communication and gain insight into the world of biomedicine.

The ARTORG Center for Biomedical Engineering Research is the University of Bern’s transdisciplinary competence center for research in the field of medical technology. Our goal is to address unmet clinical needs and anticipate future challenges in diagnosis, monitoring and treatment. With creativity and determination, we develop sustainable health technologies that enrich everyday clinical practice. Our projects cover the entire spectrum from basic experimental research to translation into everyday clinical practice.

Tasks

  • Writing content for various communication channels such as website, newsletter, social media platforms and press releases.
  • Assist in the development of annual reports, marketing materials, flyers and brochures.
  • Active participation in the organization of events such as workshops, seminars and conferences, including preparing invitations and assisting with event planning.
  • Collaborate with researchers and scientists to communicate complex scientific concepts in an understandable and engaging way to a broad audience.

Requirements

  • Training in the field of communication or studies (matriculated student) in the field of communication, media studies, biology, biomedicine or a related field of study.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in German and English.
  • Initiative, reliability, creativity and ability to work in a team.
  • Basic knowledge of using content management systems (CMS), social media platforms and graphic design tools is an advantage.
  • Interest in biomedical topics and motivation to delve into this field.
