Rapid developments concerning the war front in Ukraine. Donald Trump via a post and then the Kremlin announced that the US president and his Russian counterpart had talked for 90 minutes, with a key issue being the launch of negotiations to end the war.
The two sides agreed to take visits to Washington and Moscow on either side, as well as to start negotiations immediately through their respective teams.

“I just had a long and highly productive telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. We discussed Ukraine, the Middle East, energy, artificial intelligence, dollar power and various other issues. We both thought of the great history of our nations and the fact that we have fought so successfully in World War II, reminding that Russia lost tens of millions of people and we, similarly, lost so many!
We each talked about the strengths of our respective nations and the great benefit we will have some day after our cooperation. But first, as we both agreed, we want to stop the millions of deaths taking place in the war with Russia/Ukraine, “he said.
And he continued: “We have agreed to work together very closely, including visits to each other’s nations. We have also agreed to put our respective teams to start negotiations immediately and we will start with the call of President Zelenski, Ukraine, to inform him of the conversation, which I will do right now. I asked Foreign Minister Marko Rubio, CIA Director John Ratclifis, National Security Advisor Michael Walts and Ambassador and special envoy Steve Witkov, to lead the negotiations, which I believe will be. Millions of people died in a war that would not happen if I was president, but it had to end.
No other lives should be lost!
