Assistant coach U-19 Indonesian national team, Nova Arianto, call Elkan Baggott have performed well in the last two matches. However, language is still an obstacle.
Elkan was among the 46 players who were called to follow the TC. Defenders follow joining after making their debut with Ipswich Town on 6 October.
The joining of Elkan became additional ammunition for Shin Tae-yong’s squad, especially in the defense sector. He also proved this when he faced North Macedonia U-19. Garuda Muda was able to produce a 4-1 win on 11 October and a 0-0 draw in the following three days.
However, his performance has not satisfied the coach team 100 percent because the 17-year-old player is still constrained by communication.
“It is true that Elkan’s performance has been very good in the last two matches. But at this time we think Elkan is still constrained by communication,” Nova told reporters on a phone call, Saturday (17/10/2020).
Elkan Baggott will be with the U-19 national team in Croatia until 23 October. He had to leave the national plate early because he was called by his club, Ipswich Town.
So, while Elkan hasn’t left, Nova hopes that the communication problem has been resolved. It is known, the National Team still has three trial matches until the end of this October. Two of them are against Bosnia Herzegovina U-19 and Hajduk Split U-19, which are currently still in the communication stage.
“I hope that in the future this communication can be improved again. Because if it goes well, the back line will be able to play even better,” Nova continued.
