Communal halls, assignments and uses

An update on the municipal buildings of a sometimes historic building stock for use by associations and citizens with Monique Bosom and Yannick Legodec, assistant delegates respectively for associative life and sports.

Neighborhood halls such as Saint-Aunis and more recently La Hountagnère, first used by residents’ associations for festive programs and occasional events; rooms in clubhouses, gymnasiums, on sports sites such as those at the Antoine-Ménoni stadium used by the various clubs of rugby, basketball, tennis and padel, pétanque, Mille Pattes, Pelotaris or even La Herray… as well as Arcalès stadium (room of the Penguins); rooms in buildings assigned to associations and specific uses such as the Maison de la Pêche, Chasse et Nature on the Quai de l’Echez, the Maison des Associations and numerous co-users on Rue Barère in Vieuzac; institutional rooms such as the council room in the town hall, the meeting room in the annex town hall, or the one that has remained “firefighters’ room” on the site of the Pierre-Guillard school complex/Accueil de loisirs . Communal rooms which fall under a “general occupation regulation” in force since October 1, 2014 (deliberation of September 25, 2014) broken down into terms of accessibility; for any reservation/rental request, website of the town hall (www.mairie-vic-bigorre.fr/fr/nous-contacter) or at reception.

* Management and partnerships. In the Vicquois city, rooms come under or have come under agreements or partnerships, inter-municipal collaborations over the decades; thus on the site of the hospital center of Bigorre, rue and place Pierre Trouillé, the rooms with the classified woodwork of the Hôtel de Journet, or the Campet-Larmitou room. As for the Multimedia Center (CMM) born from the intercommunality today under the banner of the community of communes Adour-Madiran (CCAM), with mainly the cinema room and the great hall of the Octav, it remains an important site of cultural, social and entertainment life, comes under the management with programming from the CCAM community. Monique Bosom will specify that apart from the pandemic health context (and the use of the site as a vaccination center) the two communities had been partners for the programming of “Thé Dansant”.

* A multipurpose room project. Mentioned during general meetings (in particular of Club Regain), the construction of a multi-purpose village hall is the subject of details. Yannick Legodec recalling that a place was missing for family events (weddings, baptisms, etc.). The site is displayed: as an extension of the La Herray gymnasium; the additional land area has been acquired, the first architectural sketches and equipment (including a trinquet) are arriving, the provisional start-up schedule is from the end of 2022 to the beginning of 2023. To be continued.
