President Director of PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk Silmy Karim was expelled by Commission VII DPR RI during a hearing today, Monday (14/2). The person concerned was expelled directly by the Deputy Chairman of Commission VII DPR RI, Bambang Haryadi. It happened because Silmy interrupted Eddy’s conversation.
“What I’m unique about how factory for blast furnace this is discontinued, but one side wants to strengthen domestic production. Don’t be a thief, shout a thief so-lah. Let’s not play, pretend we don’t play,” said Bambang.
Silmy also questioned the meaning of Eddy’s statement regarding the thief. Then Bambang answered Silmy’s question.
“We in the sense you state that this wants to strengthen, but on the one hand you want to stop the (factory blast furnace). So where’s the spirit to strengthen it?” asked Bambang.
Then Bambang mentioned about the steel case that was already rolling in the Polda Metro Jaya which dragged the company of Kimim Tanoto. Bambang said that they were members of the Indonesian Iron and Steel Industry Association (IISIA), which was led by Silmy.
“Here I am as the President Director of Krakatau Steel, not as the Chairperson of IISIA,” said Silmy, interrupting Bambang’s conversation.
“Please, first, respect this trial. There are trial technicalities. How come you never seem to respect the Commission. If you can’t talk here, you’re out,” said Bambang.
Then Silmy immediately answered that he would be willing to leave the Commission VII DPR RI meeting room.
“Okay, if we have to go out, we’ll get out,” he said.
Before leaving, Silmy made sure that he did not intend to challenge Commission VII DPR RI.
“Thank you, Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,” closed Silmy.
