Jakarta –
There was a commotion between coaches in Tottenham Hotspur vs Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League. What’s the trigger?
Competing at Tottenham Stadium, Saturday (8/4/2023) evening WIB, Son Heung-min successfully brought Spurs ahead in the 10th minute. Brighton then leveled the score at 1-1 in the 34th minute through Lewis Dunk.
Tottenham and Brighton both lost their tacticians in the second half or the 60th minute. Coach Roberto Dezerbi and karteker Cristian Stellini got a red card.
This happened a few minutes after Brighton’s goal was disallowed. VAR intervened in a handball when Danny Welbeck’s shot hit his partner, Alexis MacAllister.
Stellini admits that he actually avoids fights. If you look at the replays, he does look calm when all the people on the bench are crowding.
“I don’t like to get involved when there is a fight or something too aggressive. I stay quiet and focus on the game. I try to do the job,” Stellini said, quoted by the BBC, regarding the situation.
“I’m Cristian Stellini and I’m the manager of Tottenham, so I’m only talking about that. It’s more important than anything,” he said.
De Zebri was also asked about the commotion on the side of the pitch. The former Sassuolo tactician seems to feel disrespected.
“I’m used to always respecting everyone and I want the same for me,” De Zerbi said.
Harry Kane has successfully presented a victory for Tottenham. He scored the decisive goal to help Spurs win 2-1.
