“A stable and lasting agreement” between the suspects linked to the “historic” criminal organizations Mafia, Camorra, ‘Ndrangheta and associates, through a “common contribution of capital, the provision of resources, the provision of human resources, the establishment of companies , all elements functionally aggregated by the common goal, namely that of profiting through multiple activities”. This is the “Lombard mafia system” reconstructed by the Milan prosecutor’s office, “cleared” by the investigating judge Tommaso Perna, and now recognized by the Review which restarts the Hydra investigation.
Last year, 11 arrests were granted out of 153 precautionary measures, yesterday the Court of Freedoms added 13 “virtual” arrests (we will have to wait for the ruling of the Supreme Court) against some symbolic figures of the investigation, namely Giuseppe Fidanzati, Gioacchino Amico and Massimo Rosi . Prominent names of the mafia-type association operating in Lombardy, attributable from time to time to the Cosa Nostra families of the Fidanzati and the Corleonesi, to the ‘ndrangheta of the Iamonte and Romeo gang, to the Camorra of the Senese family. “From the investigations it clearly emerged that the association has demonstrated a notable diffusion in the most disparate sectors of the Lombardy economy, continuously planning new initiatives, and highlighting a strong ability to adapt and respond to the demands of society, including economic reforms from which it has drawn enormous profits, taking advantage of the legislative initiatives taken in order to promote entrepreneurial initiative to overcome the economic crisis linked to the pandemic”, for example the Ecobonus in the construction sector or the opportunities in the healthcare sector. The long order does not share any considerations of the investigating judge and the panel chaired by Luisa Savoia (judges Monica Amicone and Caterina Ambrosino) underlines – starting from the interception the “building of an empire” – is “a central point: it demonstrates that the association exists in strictly structural terms, and that the subjects who are part of it, belonging to the historical mafias active in the Milanese and Varese area, give rise to a systemic collaboration limited, in the established terms, by a certain territorial context (the Lombardy one), which has first of all a mafia connotation in itself as well as in concrete actions, without this implying either fusion between mafia associations or abjuration of genetic mafia membership”
