The chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Prasetio Edi Marsudi, said: Formula E no sponsors because they are considered politically noisy. Pantia also answered Prasetio’s criticism.
“Whether there is a sponsor or not, we will continue to prepare as much as possible,” said Chief Executive of Formula E Ahmad Sahroni to reporters, Thursday (3/1/2022).
“Formula E is an automotive sport, not a political party,” he continued.

Sahroni considers Prasetio’s statement as a motivation. He said he was sure that Formula E could go according to plan.
“My brother’s statement is a motivation for us committee. My brother gives us encouragement in the committee,” he said.
Sahroni believes sponsors will come when preparations are complete. He asked all parties to wait.
“It will also appear later, when all the facilities are ready,” he said.
“We’ll just have to wait,” continued Sahroni.
Previously, Prasetio Edi Marsudi said that investors are reluctant to sponsor Formula E. The reason is that investors do not want to be openly involved in the political chaos caused by Formula E.
Pras said that the beginning of Formula E on the political agenda was when DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan invited seven factions of the DKI Jakarta DPRD for dinner and was absent from the plenary interpellation initiated by the PDIP and PSI factions.
“After that time everything related to Formula E was a political event,” said Prasetio in his statement, Thursday (3/2).

The PDIP politician said that the DKI Provincial Government is the organizer of Formula E in Jakarta. This is reinforced by the governor’s instructions to the Youth and Sports Office to budget and pay for the Formula E commitment of Rp 560 billion.
However, in 2021, Anies stated that Formula E is business to business so that the provincial government is no longer involved. In addition, Anies appointed Ahmad Sahroni as the Chief Executive of Formula E Jakarta, who in fact is a politician.
This condition is what Pras believes is the reason why Formula E is not attractive to investors. In addition, Anies’ term as Governor of DKI will end in October.
“Entrepreneurs don’t want to get involved in political noise. That’s why they don’t want to invest in Formula E,” he said.
