Committee Chair Ahmad Sahroni Buys Formula E Tickets Worth IDR 1.2 Billion

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Chairman of the Committee Formula E Jakarta Ahmad Sahroni said that he bought tickets to watch Fomula E for his team. He admitted that he had spent around IDR 1.2 billion to buy the ticket.

“I bought a ticket and I spent up to Rp 1.2 billion. Why, I only have a team, this team, my own team, from the 2013 era. The team is 640 people, imaginethat’s a cave buy it all,” he said at the Media Center Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit, Ancol, North Jakarta, on Friday, June 3, 2022.

If anyone accuses it is reasonable that the ticket sold out because it was bought, he said, it was not worth it. The NasDem politician explained that Formula E is not a village event, which residents can buy and then run out.

He said the reason for buying hundreds of tickets was because it was part of his concern. “After all, it was not made or considered a sponsor, but this is a responsibility that contributes to giving pride to Indonesia,” he said.

So, he emphasized, the value he spent was only Rp. 1.2 billion. “This is my participation as the person in charge and participating in making Indonesia proud, that’s all,” said Sahroni.

Formula E tickets sold out

Ticket sales for the electric car racing event have been sold out since three days before the race or on Wednesday, June 1, 2022. Sahroni confirmed the news, who explained that not only Formula E tickets were sold out, but also a number of merchandise.

“(Tickets) on the circuit already sold outuntil souvenirs (merchandise) also all already sold out (ordered online),” said Ahmad Sahroni as quoted from Tempo.co on Thursday, June 2, 2022.
