Football Oberliga club Stuttgarter Kickers surprisingly reached the second DFB Cup round – and everyone is in a party mood. We have the votes.

What a football holiday at the Gazi Stadium on the Waldau. After the deserved 2:0 of the Stuttgarter Kickers over SpVgg Greuther Fürth and the entry into the second round of the DFB Cup, the mood was outstanding. We have the quotes.
Rainer Lorz (Kickers President): “It wasn’t a happy win, it was an absolutely deserved one. We played really well and our opponents weren’t that up to date. Both must come together for such a surprise to succeed. The second round will bring us reputation, it will give us more visibility in public, but we won’t be fooling around with the money. You can clearly see that we have really strengthened ourselves across the board.”
Painted Moss (Kickers defender): “That was an absolutely great game from us. We gave it our all against the ball, and we have to do the same thing next Saturday at the Oberliga start in Holzhausen.”
Mustafa Unal (Kickers coach): “Our power, our momentum were the key to success. But our daily bread is the top league. We don’t want to go to the DFB Cup final, we want to get promoted.”
Denis Zagaria: “My 1-0 was preceded by a superb corner from Luigi Campagna, really great. We knew we had nothing to lose – now we have gained so much. Our fans were just amazing. That was a gift from us for the missed climb in Trier. Now we want to do everything in the league too. I would like to see VfB as my next opponent.”
David Braig: “For me, coming in as a joker and scoring was a perfect story. The rest was pure ecstasy. You didn’t realize for a minute that Fürth was in the second division and we were in the fifth. I would like a city derby against VfB in the second round – I think they’re scared (laughs).”
Kevin Dicklhuber: “We delivered an amazing fight. I’m extremely proud of this strong team. We threw ourselves into every duel and defended everything. That was a huge exclamation point from us. Nevertheless, we have to keep the ball low with a view to the start of the league.”
Marc Stein (Sports director): “The team did a great job today. We want to continue to develop as a team and as a club, so success like this obviously helps. This team enjoys our very great trust, why shouldn’t we continue to trust them?”
Mark Schneider (Coach SpVgg Greuther Fürth): “We still have to get there in the second division. The Kickers did that very, very well. Of course, the first goal conceded must not fall, it must not continue in the next few weeks. We now have to stick together as a club.”
