The voices from the game SV Sandhausen – Hannover 96 II.
Matthias Imhof, Sports Director: “That was nothing today from the first to the last minute and in all parts of the team. Despite the new signings in the game, we have the same problems as last season and today Hannover took the wind out of our sails. We played three good games and then failed to win against a struggling team.”
Sreto Ristic, head coach: “It was an intense game in which we largely lacked mental freshness. We were too late and had no flow in the game because our passing game was too slow and we were unable to use the opponent’s space. After the cup game, we were unable to bring the same performance onto the pitch. I don’t yet have a real reason for this.”
Nikolai Rehnen: “Today we made a lot of simple mistakes: with the ball and in the tackles. That meant we couldn’t get into the game. That’s always what makes it difficult, and that’s where we have to start.”
Jakob Lewald: “We had big plans and wanted to take the euphoria from the two league victories with us. That’s why it bothers me immensely that we didn’t manage that.”
Dominic Baumann: “It was obvious what went wrong today: we struggled and made mistakes. We cannot behave like that, we have to address this clearly and then see what the reaction is next week.”
