The footballers in Aichach-Friedberg are now allowed to return to the field, but point games are still a long way off. Politicians and associations must act now.
Almost five months winter break, and the local footballers are still out in the rain. At the moment, nobody can say when the game will continue.
The first teams in Wittelsbacher Land are already back on the training ground. Without physical contact, but with the ball on the foot. If the incidences remain so low, the teams will be able to train more or less normally again from March 22nd. This is important – for solidarity, for the players, the team, the club, and popular sport. But without a clear announcement of when and how the season will continue, returning to the field has no added value.
Footballers need a perspective
Politicians and associations now have to find a solution quickly. At some point there will come a point when it makes no sense to continue the season. But it cannot go from zero to one hundred either. The amateur athletes need at least four weeks of preparation time. Very few will come out of the long winter break in top shape. Training five times a week is hardly feasible with this mortgage.
