The day care center in Moorenweis is in dire straits through no fault of its own. The great need arose through stupid, unscrupulous, even insane chatter. Now the teachers are afraid. They wonder why they and their daycare are being pilloried in a messenger service. Who will harm them?
What happened? A little girl from the nursery has had a febrile seizure. The teachers provided first aid, notified the ambulance and – so that the child could be helped in a clinic as quickly as possible – requested an emergency helicopter. The police attested to the teachers that they acted “immediately and professionally”. The child was taken to a clinic by the ambulance. The helicopter could fly back without having achieved anything. The child is now fine again and was probably able to go home on Friday.
As soon as the helicopter is gone, the madness begins. A messenger service spreads that boys and girls have had corona vaccinations in the Moorenweiser children’s home. This is complete nonsense because children are not vaccinated against the virus at all. The existing vaccines are not even approved for this. But the rumors get even crazier. Soon it was claimed that children and teachers had died, hearses, it is believed, had taken away the dead and that the police had sealed the house. Police spokesman Michael Fischer speaks of rumors “far removed from reality”.
Such rumors are not only far removed from reality, i.e. completely insane, they are also dangerous and spread fear, in this case among educators and parents. They wonder why someone does that? Is there resentment, aversion or even hatred behind it? Are vaccine opponents cool or are such horror stories just an expression of thoughtlessness, gossip addiction and attention-seeking on the Internet? Whoever puts such rumors in the virtual space or passes them on should bear in mind that they harm people. It is therefore a good thing that the police are investigating the authors of the false reports. There should be no place for such rumors anywhere, not in the analogue and not in the virtual world.
