After Petra Vlhová missed a parallel giant slalom in Lech, in which she was able to defend last year’s championship, she will not even start in the next series of World Cup downhill skiing in Lake Louise, St. Petersburg. Moritzi and most likely not even in Val d´Isere.
She should not return to the “white circus” carousel until December 21 in Courchevel, where the “giant” is on the program. Together, if the weather allows, up to seven races will take place, which will be without the Slovaks.

No, Liptáček has no health problems, she is absolutely fine! Her decision to take a competitive break did not come from day to day, but was presented to the public before the start of the season. Vlhová made it clear that, unlike last winter, she would no longer be chasing in an effort to get as many points as possible.
What would she do anyway, because she already has a big “ball” for the overall championship in the World Cup at home in the showcase. Her priority is to focus on spinning disciplines, to which she sometimes adds gliding, so that in the best possible form she can “fight” with rivals for precious metals at the February Winter Olympics in Beijing.
In Lake Louise, St. Louis Moritz and Val d´Isere will compete in speed disciplines. Vlhová has never been to the Canadian winter resort before, and although she has already competed in the two Europeans, it has not been in the super-G or downhill. The hills do not know at all for these disciplines, which is a huge disadvantage in this sport.
Although Liptáček is a ski megatalent, she might be able to adapt to the conditions there relatively quickly, but expecting the elite to compete in her premieres is unimaginable. And we must not forget the possibility of injury.
The moisture decision must therefore be seen in a positive light. She and her implementation team know what they are doing. Sure, Slovak fans will miss their star very much in the coming weeks, without it, the race will not be the “real nut”, but from the end of December, Petra will not stop after that. And we believe that at the same time it will be unstoppable from now on!
