The municipal Health Secretary, Pablo Acrogliano, confirmed this morning that the flu vaccination campaign officially began in our city with the arrival of 3,000 doses.
“We have received some 3,000 doses that, according to the programming established by the Ministry, will be applied in a staggered manner according to the risk groups. At the moment what we are vaccinating is Health personnel and as the vaccines arrive We will expand and open vaccination to the general public,” he said.
in dialogue with Panoramaby LU2the official assured that “the second group is that of pregnant women, children, people with risk factors and, finally, the elderly.”
“We do not know the rate at which this will go by replenishing the vaccines, but there have never been problems in general,” he warned. “As long as there are vaccines, we vaccinate. You have to get vaccinated, yes, but it is not an emergency” .
The Ministry of Health of the province of Buenos Aires reported through a statement that the flu vaccine aims to reduce complications, hospitalizations, sequelae and deaths caused by influenza virus infection in the population at risk.
The doses will be available free of charge in all Buenos Aires vaccination centers and does not require a medical order.
“The vaccinations are the same as always, we have around 23 east points where it will be possible to vaccinate,” Acrogliano expanded.
Likewise, the person in charge of Health of the Municipality recognized that last year expectations were not met and described global vaccination as “acceptable”.
“The numbers have been lower than what we have historically in Bahía Blanca. This is the product of multiple causes, but in certain age groups we have been low in coverage,” he said.
Lastly, he referred to the vaccination campaign against the coronavirus.
“It is plateaued. It is vaccinated at a slow pace but it is vaccinated; there is availability and the people who come get vaccinated,” he replied.
“Although there are still active cases, they are all mild,” he completed.
