A memorial event will be held to commemorate the first anniversary of the October 29 disaster.
The Gwangju-Jeonnam Branch of the October 29 Itaewon Disaster Victims’ Families Association announced on the 23rd that it will hold a memorial event in the Gwangju Park area on the 28th.
Following the press conference of the bereaved families calling for an investigation into the truth at 10 o’clock on this day, a relay walk will be held demanding the enactment of a ‘special law for the investigation of the truth of the Itaewon disaster and compensation for damages, etc.’
The bereaved family plans to continue the relay walk from Gwangju Park to Geumnam Park, May 18th Democracy Square, and up to the Locust Tree Forest at the Asia Culture Center.
After ‘Remember! Memorial! And a memorial event will be held under the theme of ‘commitment to the truth’ to call for measures to prevent recurrence.
On the 29th, the first anniversary of the disaster, I will attend a memorial service held in Seoul.
