Ciamis News (Harapanrakyat.com), – In commemoration of International Labor Day, the Intellectual Student Action Forum (FAMI) of Ciamis Regency, West Java held a demonstration at the Ciamis DPRD, Saturday (1/5/2021).

Students conveyed a number of demands to fight for the workers. One of them is collecting the Ciamis Regent Political promise of 10,000 labor absorption (Naker) for the Ciamis community.

“Today we deliberately came directly to the Ciamis Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) to ask how far they were escorting the Ciamis Regent’s campaign promise, namely the absorption of 10,000 workers,” said Galuh, the coordinator of the action after a demonstration at the Ciamis DPRD Building.

According to Galuh, in the commemoration moment of this Labor Day, his party saw that until now the Ciamis Regency Government was not serious about realizing its political promises. So that students from FAMI reminded the Regent’s Political promise on this Labor Day or Mayday.

“We deliberately came straight to the people’s representative building today to convey an aspiration. So that they hear and continue to supervise the running of the government, especially regarding the welfare of the Ciamis people, “he said.

Galuh explained that there were 7 demands in the commemoration of Labor Day which were conveyed to the Ciamis DPRD. Starting from starting to revoke the Ciptaker Law and its derivative PPs, protecting the basic rights of workers, removing mass layoffs under the pretext of a pandemic.

Provide protection for the poor during the pandemic, thoroughly investigate the corruption of social assistance and labor BPJS and reject the low UMK.

“Hopefully our demands can be conveyed directly to the central government as well as a record and must be realized by the Ciamis Regional Government,” he concluded. (Fahmi / R9 / HR-Online)
