Biyar Prasad will be commemorated on Saturday under the joint auspices of Mankombe Biyar Prasad Friendship Society and Kuttanad Tanima. Flower laying at Beyar Smriti Mandapam at 9 am. At ten, Kavalam Balachandran will light the lamp at Brookshore Auditorium, Mankomp Thekekkara. Vayalar Sarachandran will inaugurate the cultural conference at 4.30 pm. Kuttanad Tanima Chairman Dr. Thomas Panakalam will preside. R Devanarayan will read the citation. Beyar’s wife Vidhu Prasad will receive the posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award. The honor includes one lakh rupees, a citation and a sculpture. Film director TK Rajivkumar will deliver the memorial lecture. Actor Anoop Chandran, Kavalam Sreekumar and others will participate. There are Kathakali presentations, folk songs, comedy shows, magic shows and plays performed by Biyar Prasad. The organizers announced in a press conference that from next year, under the auspices of Beyar Foundation, multifaceted talents in the field of art and literature will be identified and awarded.
