Commemorating Tiananmen Square Massacre: New York Exhibition Displays Bloody Towels, Letters, and More

An exhibition in New York is now commemorating the massacre on Tiananmen Square in Beijing on June 4, 1989. Bloody towels, letters, newspaper clippings, a tent where student demonstrators camped during the seven-week rally and blood-soaked protest posters are on display. the injured served as pressure bandages. The exhibits were brought together by a former co-organizer of the protests, who left Beijing after the pro-democracy movement was crushed. A theater in Taiwan is also showing a play from Hong Kong, which also deals with the events of that time.
