JAKARTA – ASEAN Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever Day (ASEAN Dengue Day) is celebrated on June 15 every year. This day is commemorated as a form of joint commitment from ASEAN countries to strengthen regional cooperation and commitment in efforts to combat dengue. Furthermore, it is held annually by all ASEAN member countries.
Taking part in commemorating ASEAN Dengue Day 2023, Enesis Group together with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia held education on prevention of Dengue Fever (DHF), through a Coloring Competition activity. Scroll for more information.
P2PM Directorate of Arbovirosis Work, Dr. Agus Handito, SKM, M. Epid, said the commemoration of ASEAN Dengue Day aims to unite ASEAN countries to jointly tackle dengue fever.
“So, the eradication and control of dengue fever starts from small things. We are not talking about the entire DKI area, but starting from the school environment first,” he said at the National Library of Indonesia, recently.
Dengue fever is a disease that must be watched out for. This includes one disease that can cause death for sufferers.
Quoted from the data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health (Kemenkes), the number of deaths due to DHF reached 472 cases. With these numbers, it is hoped that the public can be more careful and alert regarding congenital diseases that usually come along with this rainy season.
