Commander Wentz on Washington’s bridge

The Indianapolis Colts give quarterback Carson Wentz to the Washington Commanders. This reports, among other things ESPN-Insider Adam Schefter.

In exchange, the Colts will receive one second-round 2022 draft pick and two third-round draft picks (2022 and 2023). Should Wentz play 70 percent of Washington’s snaps next season, Indy will get Washington’s 2023 second-round pick instead of the third-round pick. The Commanders will take over Wentz’s contract, along with the full $28 million salary for the upcoming 2022 season, and get Indianapolis’ Second round pick 2022.

The 29-year-old playmaker was only traded to the Colts in February 2021 for a first- and third-round pick by the Philadelphia Eagles. There he fell well short of the high expectations with 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
