Commander of the Ground Forces Alexander Syrsky congratulated the Ukrainian servicemen on the Day of the Infantry and expressed confidence that in the near future the infantrymen would raise the flag of Ukraine over Donetsk, Luhansk and Crimea. About this Syrsky said in a video message on the morning of May 6.
The commander of the Ground Forces said that over the last years of the war, the infantrymen have demonstrated that even in the most difficult situations, you can turn the tide of events in your favor, and even where the enemy outnumbers you, you can recapture Ukrainian land.
“I am sure that in the near future the Ukrainian infantry will raise the Ukrainian flag over the de-occupied Donetsk, Lugansk and Crimea,” Syrsky said.
He stressed that the successful counter-offensive operations of the Defense Forces became possible thanks to the clear discipline and professionalism of the infantry.
“Today is a holiday not only for the Ground Forces, but also for the defenders of the territorial defense, air assault troops, marines and everyone who side by side in the trenches holds the front line, where heavy fighting is going on,” the commander of the Ground Forces said.
- During the day on May 5, 2023, the Armed Forces of Ukraine liquidated 560 Russian invaders, destroyed 14 armored combat vehicles, artillery systems and drones.
