Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces, General Andika Perkasa instructed his staff not to do security project anything without the approval of the Commander of the Regional Military Command (Pangdam).
The instruction followed an attack by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) that killed three TNI soldiers in Papua. It was later discovered that in that incident, the postal commander lied about the security activities being carried out.
“These armed groups can be anywhere. So a lesson to the Dandim in all regions, including in West Papua, is to never play games. That’s why in my instructions no one is to secure any project except on orders from the Regional Military Commander,” he said. Andika was quoted from an upload on his personal YouTube, Tuesday (22/3).
The former Army Chief of Staff also asked his staff to be disciplined and not act recklessly. But on the one hand, you still have to be ready wherever you are.
Andika said that the group that attacked three TNI members was the same group that attacked members of the Indonesian Air Force Special Forces Command (Kopasgat).
“I present everyone, including the Kasuari Kodam, so that everyone understands the situation that with the presence of one of the members of the armed group, the names are those who were involved in the shooting of three of our soldiers who died at the Gome Post,” said Andika.
Previously, Andika said the Koramil Post Commander Gome lied about security activities that resulted in the death of three TNI soldiers due to the KKB attack.
Andika said that the commander reported to the battalion commander that his company carried out patrols at a number of points, but the fact on the ground was that they carried out security activities for the sand excavation project.
“Because indeed what was reported by the postal commander, it wasn’t just the incident that day, that day was an incident that later killed up to three men from the post, but the activities reported by the postal commander to his top commander, namely the battalion commander who was then vicon with me, now that’s a lie,” Andika told reporters in Jakarta, Monday (21/3).
“So, for example, it is said that he issued the security post, patrol, to this point, to point A, it turns out that what he did was to the sand excavation project,” he added.
