Back in June, PlayTonic announced a revised version of “Yooka-Laylee” called “Yooka-Replaylee”. Now the studio has confirmed that the game will also be released for Nintendo, but not necessarily for the Switch.
All eyes are on the Nintendo platform
The platformer “Yooka-Laylee”, released in 2017, is considered the spiritual successor to the popular “Banjo-Kazooie” series. The game will soon return in a revised version. „Yooka-Replaylee“ is to be developed by “the same creative minds” who were responsible for the original from 2017.
A new trailer for the game has now been released, but it is not the gameplay shown that is causing a stir. Instead, an actually inconspicuous Nintendo logo is cheered by viewers on YouTube.
Game appears for “Nintendo”
The developers at PlayTonic have released a new trailer for “Yooka-Replaylee” to celebrate the release for the consoles. In addition to the PC, the title will also be released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
However, another logo that appears at the very end of the latest clip makes your eyes widen. In addition to the images for the already known platforms, the Nintendo logo is also emblazoned large and wide. Particular attention is drawn to this by two cartoon eyes that float in from the right edge and make themselves comfortable above the Nintendo font.
“Is Yooka-Replaylee the first official game for the Nintendo Switch 2?” asked some viewers in the comments under the video. “No Switch logo, just eyes over a normal Nintendo logo. “We understand where you’re going with this,” writes another user.
Release period has not yet been announced
According to the developers, “Yooka-Replaylee” will feature revamped graphics and animations. In addition, the performance and resolution are said to have been improved. Players can also look forward to revised controls and camera.
The game should also offer new and improved challenges. So that users don’t get lost, a new world map is also on board. The original soundtrack by video game composers Grant Kirkhope (“Banjo-Kazooie”) and David Wise (“Donkey Kong Country”) returns in an orchestral version in “Yooka-Replaylee”.
