Eddie Murphy’s new comedy, Coming 2 America, premieres on the Amazon streaming service. The film will be shown from December 18, according to American media.
Studio Paramount sold the sequel to the 1988 film about an African prince who seeks love in New York for $ 125 million (about $ 106 million) to Amazon.
Paramount has decided to do this because the cinema industry worldwide is currently in very dire straits as a result of the corona crisis. Numerous big blockbusters have been shelved and several large cinema chains have closed theaters in the United States and the United Kingdom, indefinitely or not.
Including the new James Bond film No Time to Die and the ninth part of Fast & Furious have since moved several times and should now be in cinemas in mid-2021. Other titles, such as Soul from Pixar studio (Toy Story) will appear on a streaming service.
